We are unique because we don't charge for our service, you receive all income for each sale, you retain your copyright granting us only a non-exclusive right so we an offer your story or book on the website, and our only interest and intent is to help you reach your market and your readers. New Author believes in the traditional publishing concept with a twist: our publications are all online,you keep all income, we pay all expenses for this site, and we do not intend to earn any income or be reimbursed for what we pay. We assume all financial risks and all expenses and we don't make a profit or intend to earn any income by providing this site or by publishing your book. This service is for the sole purpose of helping you get your book to the public and the market, nothing more.

The author pays no fees to have their book published. There's no pay-to-publish at New Author, ever, at any time. We want your book and your stores, not your money.

Our CONCEPT is simple. You upload your work, a summary synopsis of the work, a biography about who you are, you price your work, and we do the rest. All we require is that you price your work between free and $4.99. Once we have received your completed story, we post your synopsis and the first few pages for others to read. If they like what they read, there is a link which takes them to the simply online store where they can download the remainder for the price you have chosen. If you decided to charge for your story, and the reader has decided to pay for it, we collect the amount paid, and remit the entire amount to you without any deductions by us. We use paypal exclusively, so if Paypal deducts a small fee, we remit the net amount to you, but we keep nothing.

Why should you place and publish your book or story online with us? Because we don't limit where else you expose your creation, we don't charge to promote your work, we pay all expenses associated with the website, there are no hidden costs to you, you keep the copyright, you can withdraw / remove your submission / publication at any time, and we strongly urge you to also pursue all other avenues available to you. You can submit works in any language.

We provide a safe venue for interested authors and writers, young and old, that want to publish online (along with hardcopy publishing by others if they choose) so others can read your works.

Why you ask would we do this? Because it makes us feel good to contribute back what we can. We have been offering similar services to children around the world at ArtShowForKids.com and because of our interest now in publishing childrens' books, we decided to expand the idea to provide all new writers and authors a chance to self-publish for free so their works would be available to their intended readship. We accept novels, short stories, scripts (for stage, feature film, TV movies, sitcoms, documentaries, etc.), poetry, non-fiction material, plays, and as I mentioned are particularly interested in books for the younger market, (children, juvenile, young adult).

Because we have an an interest in childrens' books and because we promote a kids art site at Art Show For Kids.com, we do not accept pornographic literature on our site.

You've probably been bothered by countless self proclaimed literary agents who have suddenly discovered you and want to work with you, tons of emails and internet advertising by companies that want your money and will then "publish" your work, or demands to pay a substantial up front sum for preparation of the "business plan" or some other ruse. We've even heard stories about how some work with a "book doctor" who, upon the recommendation of the bogus literary agent, offers to help you rewrite your work to make it "more acceptable for publishers." Give me a break! Some of these companies even provide a convenient credit plan and accept all major credit cards. We will never ask you for your credit card, or to pay us anything, or to put up any money as part of our service. Honest literary agents do not solicit in this devious manner. They are busy enough with their regular clients and rarely respond to new authors. Publishers too are difficult to reach.
